Grand isle 8-8-09

Thanks so much to yall that gave me the tips, you are truly classy and what this world needs.

I had a blast today at the isle, paddled way too much im gonna be sore, i was in the boat for 7 hours, im about to calculate the distance on google earth, but it was a lot, i caught plenty of trash fish and a few rat reds, and one big nice hog. she was 26 inches and weighed 7.6 pounds after being on ice for 4 hours.

she pulled me all around the little pond where i found her.

will be going back soon

thanks again for the help

oh and she tasted amazing, took all the tips yall put on here for reds and combined them. AMAZING

im not gonna lie i wanted to scream like a girl when he splashed me

Glad you caught some fish man,I recently fished out of a kayak for the first time and its great.I bought my first one but had some leaks in the tank well area, not sure if I want to get something else instead....its a redfish 14'

yak'em-n-stack'em 08-08-2009 10:11 PM

I LOVE THE REDFISH, i used my friends redfish 10 and liked it wished it was longer, how does that one feel?

i got the cheap one from academy used from Greg Sonnier, he was in the press the other day.

It will work for now, but i want to upgrade to something with more stability and better dynamics.

In the next 2 weeks im gonna be installing my depth finder, academy has the water proof eagle for like 70 bucks

as soon as i get my GPS sold its on

Yak em,
Glad i could help ya out . Now how long ya think it would take you to fish that one area?
Look at it on google earth and you can see the pit and the ponds .
Lots of places to fish and like i said you can get to the surf thru the big pond at the end.
Years of ponds and canals back there.:smokin:

Dink 08-08-2009 11:40 PM

Go to pack and paddle.........they have a 14ft there w/ a trolling motor in the middle of it!!!!!! Supper cool!!! don't know how long you can go on a battery, but I'd think pretty far.............Paddeling is for dummys..............or so I've heard.......Tim

eman 08-09-2009 06:09 AM

BTW.
There's a bunch of big gar fish in the pit. OOPS , i guess i'm a little latek

speckdaddy 08-09-2009 07:31 AM

yak'em-n-stack'em 08-09-2009 02:01 PM

Still didn't get your part hustler?

Hopedale Hustler 08-09-2009 02:05 PM

nah i got it..2 diff times...2 different wrong parts..them people at boats city are highly retarted...but hey wat can i say..at least they stopped me from prolly gettin struck by lightining today...tuesday im supposidly getting the right one..and then its on..

CatDaddy 08-09-2009 06:35 PM

I tried to get my pilot to fly down and buzz ya, but you was to close to air bases, and that had to much lightning around you... Its FAA policy to stay at certian altitudes around air bases... Plus we was about 8000 feet where it was cool...
