Whooping Cranes in Ville Platte

Went to go check out a rice field lease with a buddy of mine and 4 of the newly released whooping cranes have made a home there. I got a few pics of them. You can see the transmitters attached to their legs. Them things are big!!!

Saw one the other day with something on its leg like that in Maringuoin in my buddys cane field(or however you spell it). What are they? Endangered?

Extremely endangered. They used to have to get into a bird suit just so the birds never came in contact with humans

Not at all... Them transmitters tell WLF as soon as one of them birds hearts stops and they are on their way out there to see the cause of death
