Please help
I need to get a new depth finder/gps. I'm having trouble decidin between a lowrance m68c, and a humminbird 385ci. Any input would be much appreciated.

Simple, how much do you WANT to spend?

Joking, my buddy had a Humminbird 385ci that he lost at sea. Screws pulled out of the WOOD. He liked it and I didn't care for it since I don't need fishfinders.

if I was getting one, I'd get a lowrance and make sure it can sync with a HDS. then I would get a HDS if I didn't have one already!

The higher quality the more money. If you need gps first and depth second, then Garmin is good. Next look at the mapping software for the unit - navionics is good. Fish finding is sketchy as I use mine for structure mapping and gps which is why my upgrade will be for a humminbird di unit. Of the two you mentioned, the humminbird will be more than adequate and easier to use. Just my opinion.

Thank y'all for the help

Between the 2 mentioned the M68c. I have sold tons of them for kayak fishing. The sounder is sensitive enough you can read a lure bouncing on the bottom. The maps are ok in the gps just do not give alot of marsh and can not be upgraded.
