Pretty cool. I'd like to see a map of Lafayette from100 years ago.

I just bought a bunch of nautical maps of ship shoal, grand isle, head of passes in Venice that are originals from 1854 and earlier! I'll post em up when I take pics

Montauk, I was at the Prop Shop today and saw a large map of the basin on the wall. Do you know where that one was purchased?

Not sure if this site sells it, but you can look at the government land office (GLO) and along with maps like these, you can get the notes the surveyors wrote down at the time. Pretty cool reading something that was written in a familiar place in teh 1800s, they basically wrote down the types of trees that were the witness trees. You never know what you will get, some didn't write down much, but some were very wordy and took note of everything. I bet south of I-10 there may have been a few recordings of 'oh siht a cottonmouth' or 'mosquitoes larger than pelicans'
