Breezy Day Reds!

Took my son and friend out yesterday to wet a line for the first time in 2 1/2 months. Caught 6 keeper reds tightlining swimbaits, mostly tsunamis, just blind-casting while trolling small bayous in the Cypremort Point area. Took a bumpy trip to the Pass to check out the water but only found choppy, dirty water everywhere. There were hundreds of seagulls and pelicans rafting in the Pass and probably should have made a few casts to see what was under them, but figured the water was just too dirty. Pretty day to be out on the water.

Nice job man, I'm thinking about maybe trying to go Monday if it's not too rough

Nothing wrong with that...did you try marsh island?

PathfinderNI 03-05-2011 12:46 PM

tried Little Charles Bayou

before heading in....trolled all the way to the dam with no hits. Even tied up at the dam and chunked some dead shrimp on the bottom with no success. Had a great meal last night with fried redfish, and shrimp in a butter sauce piquant gravy over rice!
