Yeah, that's about right! Election is coming, time to look good! Still won't like him but, I am relieved that some Americans are gonna get to go back to work!

People paying $3.50/gal. for gas are going to remember this when voting time comes around.

It ain't awesome for the companies with 4 or 5 stacked rigs for the past year that still are not permitted and working yet.
1 permit is good news to the ones who don't work in the oil field. It is not for the ones who do.
If a company never had a deepwater incident in 20 years, why hold them back?

True but 1 permit being issued is ALOT better than 0 permits being issued. Is it rediculous that it took this long? Yes. Is it pathetic that so many rigs are stacked? Definately. But you can't get to 10, 15 or 20 permits without getting #1 so it's definately a step in the right direction, FINALLY.

It isn't even a new permit they were drilling before the moratorium took place. This is the Obama administration trying to make the people think they are doing something positive.

I don't think they will ever realize it. They are complaining about high gas prices everywhere but people still oppose drilling. I don't think that most people know where oil and gas comes from. I think they just assume that it comes out of the ground at the gas pump.:pissed:

Well it puts a Rig back to work!!!! Do you even realize how many wells were being drilled when this all went down?? I hope that we can get the "new permits" to go finish the wells that were stopped for the moratorium. Its atleast a start.......and a step in the right direction, finally.

It just takes so damn long to get a permit approved.
The board that approves them prolly has one person who knows what is going on.
The rest of them have to be schooled by the company drilling engineers and operations managers in order to get them to agree on an approval.

Read the first post on this:

And that permit is still not approved yet. Look at the date it was posted. July 2009!!!!!
