In the summer, Big Lake is full of Gar.
Especially near the weirs.

Amy Dyson is a real person. Not who you think it is.

Is there a closed season for oystering on Big Lake?

"W" 02-26-2011 01:24 PM

might be a capsized haynie on biglake soon. you dont mess with a mans livelihood.

Asterisk-Rich 02-26-2011 02:32 PM

I would love to see her reiterate that in person...probably be one hell of a show!

southern151 02-26-2011 02:38 PM

Stayed out of this for sensitivity reasons. This is a tough subject to take in for someone who is trying to make their living.

Just a guess at her mindset is that "I'm trying to make a living and these folks are worried about a place to play."

Again, just my idea of their perception. Got $20 says she could probably whoop w. Got $20 more says it would be hilarious to witness!!!!

"W" 02-26-2011 02:47 PM

Pull up the tickets enforced by WL&F and compare them... We have 3 times the amount of guides than oyster fishermen... But oyster boats hold 10 xs the tickets issued... So who are the eye sores???? Its public records.... You don't see guide boats getting ticketed everyday for breaking the law...but oyster boats are getting them every week!!!

Flounder smacker....I wish you would please stop hiding behind your keyboard and be a man...and show your self to me one day...you act like you know me well...so you must know where to find me....but guys like you who are cowards and hide behind a screen name is why you would not sign the document

yak'em-n-stack'em 02-26-2011 02:57 PM

Boom

DUCKGOGETTER 02-26-2011 03:21 PM

This is so true they're killing a great place to fish. Also w i commend you and everybody else who are stepping up and trying to make a difference. Nobody is trying to take there way of making a living just trying to make it fair for both sides. I want my kids and grandkids to be able to enjoy the great hunting and fishing i have, and the only way to do that is to take care of what we have.

"W" 02-26-2011 03:33 PM

And for the record I'm against the weirs but that was installed before my time of concern

dude anytime any place if you feeling up to it. few weeks and ill be at my camp on bl. as far as your oyster deal you are just bored offshore with nothing to do. if someone who was knowledgeable and had the capability of handling something like your trying to do would step up then i would be behind them 100%. you are just too low on the totem pole for anyone to take a second look.
