How do i find out the owner of a piece of property? If anyone has access to do this or can help, please send me a PM so i can give you more information.

no one knows.... some say its a lease, others say it belongs to an oil company...... i just want to clear out some underbrush, but dont wanna get into any legal trouble....

Go to the court house, they should be able to tell you.

Set it on fire, you'll find out who's it is ;)

The clerk of court in each parish has a plat map of all lands in the parrish and it list the current owner(s).
You need the address or closest cross street or some way to figure out exactly where it is on the map

they should know who owns it.

Yes, Clerk of Court has all the records, but like someone said a land manager has that info. If you know any foresters or land managers in the parish they usually have a book with all that information.
