Fun day on the Du

Had a great day down in Dularge. Took my good friend Doug with me this morning. It was his first time being there, and a great first trip for him. He was amazed at just how much marsh is out there. lol Weather was pleasant, water was beautiful, and the catching was awesome. Got a little bit of a late start due to all the fog,but it was steady biting, until right before we left, then it got kicked into high gear. We quickly finished our limits, and wanted to play catch and release for a lil while, but my buddy had a meeting he had to get back too. Big thanks to my friend Capt Bill Lake for some last minute tips, and helpful advice. I have chartered Capt Bill a number of times through the years, and have never been disappointed. If any of you guys are thinking about giving the du a shot, He is your man. He can definately put you on some fish. We caught our fish on a variety of different lures today. From swim baits,to glow, christmas tree, salt n pepper, black and chart.chubs to beetles under a cork, and also had some nice fish on corkies. Had a blast, and am looking forward again to when I can sneak another trip in.

Nice fish Jody, good day to fish right before the pressure increase.

thanks man, the bite was pretty steady most of the morning,We only had about 10 left to finish our limit, then it just got stupid. We were just casting and reeling, and they were slamming it. Far cry from earlier in the morning when we were having to crawl it.

They got there grub on before that front passed.

speck-chaser 01-18-2011 09:13 PM

seemed like it. Im sure they were gearing up for that big front this weekend too.

Nice Job! Capt BIll is the man to get advice from,, I still want to book a trip with him one day. working these straight days right now is killing me.

speck-chaser 01-18-2011 09:49 PM

yep, he is a wealth of knowledge. Ive hired him in different seasons, just to get a feel of the general area that the fish hang out in at that time of the year. Heck its worth the money, for him just to show you some places not to pass during low tide.lol

My parents actually gave me the money towards a trip with him last year. I just havent decided when to use it. I mainly fish for trout in the fall and winter. Im gonna call him up one of these days
