First doe of the year

Well Saturday 10/16 marked the first day we could shoot does in area 6 and a unlucky victim showed up at 9:45. I had figured the morning would be a wash since the week before I saw lots of does off this stand early but nothing showed before 9:45. She came down my walk in trail and got into a big ditch bottom. I whistled at her 5 times but she would not stop. When she climbed the bank on the other side I let out a baaa and took the shot. I shot her with a 100 grain thunderhead and she ran about 65 yards and piled up. Spent the afternoon frying shrimp, drinking beer, and watching football on the porch of the camp.
