Private land deer hunting
 

Word around town here has it that it is ok to shoot a doe as long as it is in the required season and you stay within your limit ?

Anyone heard of this ??

Is this new??

Any help would be appreciated.......sources are needed also..


I wrote an e-mail to WLF also.

As long as it's either-sex season you can kill 1 doe a day but only 3 does per season.

just double checking ross....... didnt wanna go pop a doe out of the either sex season.... im waiting on a response from the WLF.... i'll post it up when i get it..

Not exactly sure I understand the question but there are no more doe days in Louisiana. You can shoot a doe on private land any day during the rifle season.

A few guys at the gas station were saying that you can shoot a doe during rifle season, but cant shoot more than 6.

BUT you can shoot them anytime that deer season is open

3 does 3 bucks for the season. 1 of each per day on private land.
Make sure and tag as soon as you kill . If you are transporting it from the spot you kill it better have a tag.

Yep, they are very strict about the tagging and if its a doe keep either the head or some way to identify its a doe.

Dang, i just remembered i left the head of the doe I killed by the porch of my camp this weekend:(. Thats guna freaking stink this weekend.

Im telling you 100% you can shoot 3 does a year any day of the season. This was changed 3 years ago. Your tags consist of 3 buck and 3 does. Tag the deer with the appropriate tag and your good to go. Look at the pamphlet it does not list any doe days any longer.

This is correct. It can't be stressed enough how important it is to tag the deer though, make damn sure you put the bottom antlerless deer tag on her before you even move her from where she falls at. They are very strict about a deer not being tagged.

i understand about the deer being tagged.... i have zip ties...... i'll tag her around the foot or ear or whereever.... just wanted to make sure that there were no more doe days.... i dont wanna pay fines if i drop a ***** !!

This is only different in Area 6 (not you) where they can NOT shoot any does for the first 15 days of bow season (Oct. 1 -15th) since the mommas are still nursing.

This has been this way for several years!!!!! Besides, you're gonna miss anyway!!

All BS aside, it is confusing, because it does change on the WMA's and it is also different if you are issued tags on private land for DMAP. Just remember, the limit is 3 does and 3 bucks for LA. Unless you are DINK, he has 18 deer tags right now that I know of!

Ain't that some shyt!!!! I got my tags about 20 min before him from the same girl at the same counter and I only got my 6!
