Leeville 9/11/10

Made a trip Saturday 9/11/10. Scattered Thunderstorms and a West wind shut down the Speck bite. Decided to target Reds. Fished the marsh north of Leeville hitting the banks early and did ok. After lunch hit the west bank of Little lake and tore them up sight casting. What a blast they hit on everything from top waters to gold spoons to plastics. Great day. My 12 year old caught a 6# speck on a Gold spoon. We were fishing a cut that was flowing out hard he cast out away from the bank and hooked up. I expected it to be a red when he got it to the boat and I netted it he was stoked. Great day over all.

I am not a photographer. Here is a pic of his big Speck. The picture does it no justice. Actually I am kind of disappointed it didn't come out better. He wanted to mount the fish but I told him no. The boy is a fishing machine. He does not start to complain until it is time to go. Bob Gouge from between the banks fishing show was at the fish cleaning station when we got there and he and my son hit it off. He asked him if he would want to be on the show sometime. If it ever happens I will let you guy's know when. Would be cool.:)
