How many of you guys carry?

How many of you guys pack pistols on a daily basis?
Do you have the ccw permit?

What is the state law for packing in your vehicle?

jchief 08-22-2010 12:02 PM

In Louisiana your vehicle is considered an extension of your home as far as weapons are concerned. You can have a weapon any where in it. You should let an officer know if you are stopped that you have a weapon in your vehicle.

I don't have a ccw yet. I am probably going to get it very soon.

FF_T_Warren 08-22-2010 12:04 PM

I want to get my ccw pretty soon

Sea-Trac Offshore 08-22-2010 12:15 PM

I carry in the car and boat but not on person as no permit.

longcast 08-22-2010 12:22 PM

U can carry on your person as long as it's visible.my brother inlaw carries all the time. 45 on his side. No permit

Dink 08-22-2010 12:23 PM

I've been lulled o er in Texas with pistol in truck......I told the trooper I had it, he said I'm really not supposed to do that, but no trooper would give me a hard time about it......I always have gun in car or truck

I carry cause I have to drive thru all the democrats in NOLA at 3:30 am on the way to work. They are not likely to want to jack the old Ford, but they might think I have some cash in my wallet. No permit. Not worried about one either.

bay_slayer 08-22-2010 12:38 PM

I carry everywhere I go. If you get a permit and have to use the gun you can have bigger consequences, because of the responsibility of the permit. I will probably never get a permit for that sole reason. Like the saying goes "I'd rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6".

2ndamendment 08-22-2010 12:40 PM

We all should have access in the home, vehicle, boat, RV, on person, etc. This would no doubt curtail majority of the crimes against people.
Support the 2nd amendment.

I don't carry on a regular basis but traveling this weekend through TX with my wife and kids in areas we didn't know, I most certainly did. Sad we live in a world where we have to think that way but, I'm not willing to take a chance with their wellbeing or mine!

I do not possess the ccp either. Like it has been said, "I'd rather it be 12 than 6!"

LaAngler 08-22-2010 02:44 PM

It's 100% legal to carry a concealed weapon in your car in Texas (since 2007). You don't need to inform an officer unless they ask you.

I carry in my car all the time and on me most of the time...sometimes more than one, depending on where I'm going. :)

Had a cc permit for 9yrs, don't go very many places without protection. Baton Rouge has been listed as one of the top 5 most violent cities in the US.

Remember - when secounds count the police can be there in mere minutes.

I was a member for years. When they would not stop sending requests for more money after I had asked them many times, I dropped my membership.

Don't mean to hi-jack this thread but.....the NRA may not be perfect but they are the only ones strong enough to fight against the liberals in Washington DC
