Grand Isle Jul 31, Aug 1 & Aug 2
 

I had a long weekend planned in Grand Isle for this past weekend. I fished Sat., Sun. and Mon. To say the fishing down there is fantastic is an understatement.

Saturday I went with my little cousin and 2 of his buddies. We fished the beach on Fourchon since there was a stiff north wind blowing. The trout were going crazy. We boated our 100 trout before 9:30 and beat the heat back to the house. Everything we caught was on plastics.

Sunday I went out with my dad, uncle and another cousin. Went back to the same stretch I was fishing on Saturday. The fish weren't fast and furious like Saturday, but the trout were a lot bigger. My little cousin Ross had the big fish of the day that weighed in @ 6lbs on the cheapie boga. It's probably going on his wall, a person best for him. We closed out with another 100 trout, all on plastic.

Monday I met up with some friends of my girlfriend at her camp and took them fishing. I made another trip back to the beach. Today was a bit slower, with a lot of miss fish and escapees right at the boat. Although we didn't limit out this day, we put together a solid box of fish. We had a 4 lber, a 3 1/2, and about 10 in the 2-3 lb range. The girls were all smiles as they whooped the guys in the other boat's arse! :rotfl:

It was a great weekend on the island and I'll probably be back out there again next weekend!

im goin friday to fourchon or between fourchon and gi if winds are permitting hit me up if yall go . if not gi then venice on friday try to get some ling, small grouper and hit some trout up on the way in of some rigs
