Jetties turned on yet?

Have the Cameron Jetties turned on yet? This is the typical time of the year?

Yes, now is a good time.

No not really, you catch a few fish there, but for some odd reason it has not turned on yet. There was a spurt a couple weeks ago when they started biting down there, but that came to a screaching halt and has not turned back on yet.

Usually when you don't hear anything from big lake. That's when it's best. When the fish turn on dem boys lips get tight

Water should be good this weekend if the weather man is accurate. I may try it since I had plans to fish the short rigs, but now it's closed.

ScubaLatt 07-13-2010 11:43 PM

short rigs closed?

Are the short rigs closed? I thought only federal waters were closed, not state waters. The short rigs are only 3 miles offshore.:shaking:

Louisiana waters only go out 3 miles

only state in the nation to have such, everywhere else is 9

I wish the short rigs were only 3 miles or less. They look close, but aren't. The "jackups" to the east are 6 miles I believe. Actually heard a story that a group of guys had fished a local tournament ans hammered the reds out there. Supposedly, they won. When asked by the game wardens the whereabouts where the fish were caught, they had no hesitation to tell them at the jackups. Well, needless to say, they were cited for the posession of the fish and lost the tournament. Anyone know if this is true?

Lips are tight because of those SW winds. SW winds tend to shut the the fish's mouth very tight.
