man tx star gives away a boat for gafftop, but LA won't for offshore fish?

guess the spill hurt enrollment

be thankful for anything.....almost had to cancel the whole offshore division........

LA STAR has a long way to go to catch up with TX STAR. TX also gives kids a fully college scholly to its kids winners.

I seen the Tx. CCA booth at the Houston Fishing Show last year.
They's got it going on over there.
They had a booth just for the lady's.

Yo Brab's....like the avatar!

LSM had to close all the CCA threads down...the bow fisherman were slamming the CCA....

Like CCA or not they are still the only defence for fishing we have in LA. With out them we have no one to stand up for our fishing rights and rescources...

I really can't complain as the CCA has done a lot for our Lake!

They made mistakes but the good out weight the bad....Most of the mistakes are things pushed by backers who just want to see things there way!

Bow BAN for redfish was a bad move for the CCA
Triple Tail limit Bad Move again....

I believe the CCA needs to drop the politics and lets get some work on our coast done....

I WILL SUPPORT THEM!!

Big Kahunaz 07-02-2010 05:50 PM

Watch it hold.

hmmm

W I have my own opinions of CCA trust me LSM pulled every post. I do agree one thing you said if they stay out of politics and worry about coastal concervation. Then I will support them again like I did for hmmm 5 years goin to every banquet in BR. But politics over private land and that bowfish thing made me bail. Just think focus should be on the concervation of our coast and wetlands now more then ever. I promise I will not bash them on this site....just the other one... :)

I see where the Bow Fishing pissed a lot off...

My outlook on private land gates is two ways.... I really dont see where the CCA could do anything that would help...
It would coast thousands of dollars just to get in court...and Its hard to over turn a land owners right...
IM not up to date with all the private land gates but as a land owner....Its a tough call

I'm on the banned bus at lsm for my comments about cca Jeremy look at your post above. No where in any of anyones post have we commented about landowners . It's only water we are commenting on, i don't get out of my boat at all.
Just have to yank the chain somewhere,

The Calcasieu Calcutta offers lagniappe in the 2010 STAR

The Calcasieu Calcutta is a first time, experimental addition to the 2010 CCA/Mercury STAR unique to Calcasieu Lake.

STAR anglers competing on “Big Lake” are encouraged to bring speckled trout for live weigh and release at Cocahoes or Calcasieu Point Landing. Trout weighed and released live will compete along with other trout tendered for competition in the West zone of the speckled trout division. The lagniappe: Every week (Monday to Monday), the angler with the heaviest weigh/release wins a brand new Falcon HD 7’ graphite rod. Sign up for STAR 24/7 at www.CCASTAR.com or call 1-877-422-2782.

When practicing catch and release, we encourage anglers to tag fish prior to release. To become a member of CCA Louisiana’s free tagging team, call 1-800-567-2182.
Good luck and good fishing,
Sam

chas, what about all the waters to the east that are open and stricktly catch and release?? how do we weigh in fish for the star?

cmdrost 07-08-2010 08:03 AM

unfortunatly....with the way LDWF made the rules, there is no way to do catch & release for trout, since you can't bring the fish back to the dock to weigh.

However, tagged redfish will be eligible. CCA is going to ammend the rules to allow you to cut the tag off the fish if you catch one, and release the fish unharmed back into the water.

Youth Division, since it is not determined by weight, is still allowed with just a photo of the fish (C.P.R.) to be elligble for prizes.

Rules should be updated today on www.ccalouisiana.com
