Where in Lake Charles can one purchase Fresh garden raised okra, maters, cucumbers, ect? Would prefer an individual and know about the farmers market but just never can get there on Sat morning. If you have them, I would like to buy.

I have been picking 6 to 8+ cucumbers every day for the past 2 weeks. I can't hardly give that many away to friends and neighbors.

Squash and Zucchini are about finished. Tomatoes are just starting to get ripe and pole beans are almost ready to start picking.

To buy some fresh Vegies......I think there is someone that sets up on Sam Houston Jones Pkw a couple block off Hwy 171.....but I don't know what days they are there.

raymond, why dont you just plant a garden i know you have dirt:smokin:

Don't have time to keep the weeds out of one and I can't stand a garden with weeds and grass in it. Would also need to haul in dirt since the S L C crap my house sits on can barely support what grass I have.

get you some cinder blocks, and make you a lil raised bed and get some good composted sterile soil from a nursery down there and plant away, no weeds,at least the one I sell dont have any. My lil boy has been picking beans, tomatoes, squash and bell peppers for a few weeks now. cucumbers are starting to go crazy too. Wish you lived closer,I could hook you up

Hey Raymond do you ever check the gentleman who has a big garden on Elliot Road south of Gauthier Rd. It's on of my stops on the way home after fishing at Calcasieu Pt.
He puts veggies in a Walmart bag for $1 a bag. It depends on what is in season. The dry spring was hard on him. He doesn't have a well and he was hauling 50 gallons of water a day.

Gerald, nice cumbers what is your address and when will you be on vacation?:work:

Never thought that the guy sold to the public, guess I am too dense to realize a guy with a garden that big cannot eat it all himself.
