Need Big Lake Help

I have been catching alot of reds but haven't really had sucess with trout. I would like to either go with someone experienced to learn or have them come with me. I have a nice boat but no trolling motor

Pretty much impossible to catch trout without a trolling motor

You can putt putt a ways away from the reef, nose up on th banl and walk down the bank to it, if it is close to the edge of the water.

So yall fish reefs? I put in all the ones on the map to my GPS. I've only recently done this but still find myself ended up at the weirs. I did end up catching 9 trout Friday right at dark

Stop way upwind from the reef, drift outside it and throw towards it.
Don't crank up till you are way off it. Don't pass over it.
Less noise as possible.

The best advice I can give you is go on the weekdays,or before daylight on the weekend. The crowds can get crazy, dont fish boats, find your own fish and you will do better.

To answer your question....... Trolling motor will help you catch way more trout....... Reds are easy just throw an anchor out at the weirs.

Trout are on the reefs and drop offs.......Once June and July come you can go offshore to the 1st rigs and catch trout with no trolling motor.....
also the jetties will kick on in a few weeks........Just remember......If you see a boat catching fish....He was there 1st and thats his fish....stay 50 yards away and be respectful.....this will go a long way
