I have seen bits and pieces here and there, was it in self defense or a brutal act, just asking because i havent kept up with it?

Judge threw out the 3rd degree. If I understand correctly, it's 2nd degree or manslaughter.

i predict convicted on manslaughter then that will be overturned by appeals court in 1 years time(keeps the judge and jury from being on the hook for an acquittal) as GZ sits in isolation/protective custody.

It is sad but you know in the back on the minds of the judge and jurors is the thought of the repercussions of letting this innocent man walk free.
