Its a Six tournament Kayak Fishing Series throughout Louisiana. We normally draw 60-100 participants in each one. We may not do the numbers the World Championship does but I am still inundated with requests from unsportsmanlike anglers all the time. We would Never change rules at the last minute to cater to specific fisherman.
We have a fish anywhere tourney next sat if you'd like to sign up Evis |

Once you take the live bait aspect out of it your not going to see 35-37lb 5 trout stringers very often
I only seen 1 time where a 5 trout stringer was caught over 30lbs on artificial It was Bruce Baugh , Steve Nelson and one other guy who had a beast of Stringer for the east vs West event

The rod in my back says no Kayaks for me. I do find the participation in Kayak tournaments to be impressive.

Thanks, a group of us took over the series three years ago and we've managed to grow it a lot by reaching out to local companies to help with door prizes. Even with 100 participants we normally have enough door prizes for every person at the weigh in to get something valued from $30-$200. You can not win a door prize if you're in the money. It brings people who wouldn't normally weigh in fish. Not to mention the free Beer and food from Cricket's Kitchen has helped us out a lot as well. At the end of the day, we know we're fishing in plastic boats, we're not pros and just want to spread the joy of fishing for whomever can enter. |
