I own a radar detector and I still only drive maybe 5 miles over the speed limit. I just like to know where they hide out at. My friend has one that lets you know when you are around a traffic light camera. That thing is sweet man. Wish I had one.

expect to pay around 400-500. The latest model is the v1 i think, and it's bad arse. my current unit. K40

lasted me 7 years and i've only gotten 1 ticket(in which they paid, up to a year after purchase)

i've taken that trip from laffy to houma plenty o times...and the worst part is the patterson area.i go through no problemos and always make good time. (less than an hour sometimes)

a tip on driving, with or without radars....

never EVER ride in the left lane,

never EVER speed(if you choose to do so) on an open road with no cars head of you.

with the radar, i "use" other cars, especially those ahead of you. In theory, if a cop is zapping people, he should zap those ahead of you(or around you) first, thus giving you the warning , and alerting you.

also keep in mind, if a cop is using laser or "pop"radar(where he intermittenly zaps on/off, on off) sometimes it's inevitable to get a ticket. It doesnt block, jam, or alter the cops radar/laser signal in any bit, just alerts you when you/someone near you is being zapped.

The only reason tickets exist are to fund city bull****. Run up to Toledo soon and look at the brand new chargers all the cops have in these cities of 12. It's a racquet just like most other ****. Keep the honest man paying and the criminals collecting welfare. Our system is f***£*

The reason cops write tickets is mostly so they (the violator of state/parish/city laws) don't do it again although most do. Yes, some poor cities with a poor police department use tickets to fund their police force like Livonia and Sorrento, but it also helps make an attempt to keep the roads safer. Now as for the Chargers, police departments generally keep cars for around 4-6 years and then SELL them to Taxi companies or other departments and even civilians. The Crown Vics are about to stop being produced or have been ceased in production already. I may not be all right in this response, but come roll across me when I get on either with Gonzales Police or Sorrento Police, and I'll further explain it. I'd rather write a ticket to a speeder rather than an accident report with a fatality.
