I just bought Kenmore front loading washer and dryer from Sears for less than $500/piece about 2-3 months ago and love em. I would recommend getting the pedestals($175/piece) for em. Your ole lady will be happy if she is the one doing all the laundry(like mine ) and not having to bend over to load and unload. I looked for a model on em for ya but all i see is about a 10 digit long number on the back for the model number. If you want it Ill post it.

Yes very quiet. I almost bought the Samsung, prob the same ones you are looking at, but the kenmores were on sale. Little bit of advice, make sure you take the shipping bolts out the back of your washer if you buy one. I didn't realize I had to do this (being a man and not looking at directions). I ran it for the first time and it jumped across the floor and smashed into the wall. Luckily i didnt break anything. I was about to return it but called customer service and they told me about my dumb mistake. They hold the drum in place for shipping. Took them out and it runs fine.

We bought a front-load washer and dryer set a couple months ago. No problems with it at all. The washer runs longer than a top-load, but it spins the clothes until they are only barely damp, so our dryer only takes about 10 minutes where it used to take 30-45. If you leave the washer door open just a crack when not in use, or use the correct anti-mildew agent once a month in your laundry, you won't have any mildew. I paid $800 or so (would have been $50 less for electric dryer, but I wanted gas this time) for a good mid-range Whirlpool set I found on sale and am perfectly happy with them both. And I sold my 8 year old top-load set for $300, so I came out pretty good. The wife and our maid are both happy.

You don't ever have your clothes washed, Raymond?

Oh, I forgot to mention, if you decide to go the leaving the door cracked method, make sure your cats don't climb inside and track in dirt from the potted plants they knock over while doing cute little fuzzy kitten stuff.

My Aunt furnished her kitchen with high end appliances last year and her dishwashers bottom seal is already breaking, well she called them to get it fixed and they said she didn't purchase the warranty, but they could send someone out to look at it for $225 dollars, and if they have to take it to fix it, it will be $125 to take and whatever it costs to fix it. Then once it's fixed they said she could purchase a warranty. She said screw that, it's not leaking yet, so she's gonna let it go until it does and just buy a new one. This was from Sears and i think regardless which way you go you'll get screwed. Just my $.02
