LMAO............if you honestly think that you will be the only person raising your kids, then you are in for a rude awakening. I dont think the saying is meant to say any stranger in the neighborhood should correct/teach/discipline your child, but for the people that will will be a constant in his/her life will. I dont have a problem with them whipping him or putting him on his knees if he is acting up. At least he knows that there will always be consequences even if I'm not around to see. I remember my dad used to tell the people I was left with "If he acts up whip his a$$". and if they did I would get another a$$ whippin when I got home. If you ask me, thats whats wrong with kids today. They know they can get away with anything when the parents arent around with no consequences for acting up.

of course i agree with you...and i believe in respect as much as the next guy...but there is a huge difference between your parents/relatives correcting your offspring than the next door neighbor

I feared my neighbors dad as much as my own. I guess that's just the diffence in upbringing. I don't expect everyone to understand.

As far as questioning my intellect or comprehension, well, it's better left alone. Vote left or raise your kids how you want. I'll raise mine to respect a man and his beliefs as well as The Good Book.

I remember years ago, my brother was always in trouble......and my parents always blamed "those boys" he hung around with. I am positive "those boys" parents where saying the same thing.....thus no parent making their child responsible.......

Perhaps you are right on that. I actually have to agree. Probably wasn't the best term to use but, I've never associated the phrase with the Jewish race. You are right though, we all need to practice what we preach and thanks for bringing that to my attention.
