A 16' boat will be 3 mph slower than a 15' boat of the same width, thickness, and manufacture. Just a simple fact we have proven a few thousand times.

With the 25 Suzuki, you will usually gain more performance by proper set-up than grinder work.The 3 cylinder Suzuki does not lend itself to gigantic gains in performance without compromising reliability, the biggest stumbling block is the inability to remove the rev limiter. That is why the 3 cylinder yamaha 25 is the more preferable outboard to tinker with for huge gains in power.
