Nice catch Ray. I have been doing well at he barrier on the west side. Top water before daybreak. Then chrome/blue rattle traps or LSU sand eels on a half oz jighead. Didn't have to measure any fish.

I caught a hybrid 22yrs ago off the bank of West Fork up around Cypress Lake Subdivision that went around 6lbs. Caught it on a spinnerbait. Talk about a fight. We brought it Phil Broussards house to make sure had identified it correctly. They even put my picture in the lagniappe. I'll see if my mom can send me a copy of it.

White bass (sand bass) are very good to eat, that used to be primary catch in Oklahoma, the larger ones need the red meat trimmed, as do the large stripers and Hybrids. They are good fighters and like rooster tails, rattle traps, and many of the Storm cranks such as wiggle wart, hot-n-tot and thin fin. Great fish to get some kids into once they school they are hungry for anything!
Would give anything to have a mess of them now. |
