Default gotta go crabbin!

okay, brother's wife is in full blown pregnancy, and she wants some crabs bad. (man that just don't sound right!) The only place I have ever been is joseph's harbor, and before freshwater city road. anyone know of anyplace on 82 that you can go from the road? or have been to joseph's lately and caught any (if that launch in open again) I know about the few spots before the freshwater city road, but have never done well there at all.

is it even the season right now?

thanks for any info.

yea crabbing season is open now and u can crab from freshwater city all the way to holly beach up to hack berry but if u dont wanna go tha far mostly i kno is roll over off the side, st joseph habor then there a road a little past st joseph harbor called priceland road or something like tha on ur left side heading west on 82 if u past tha up u can go to mermtau river there a spot on the side but u gotta cross over the bridge then there a street on the right side after the bridge turn right and go down abt half a mile u will see a spot on the right side like a sandbar or go to cameron cross the ferry crab at the beach or go up on hwy 27 like going to hack berry there is a few spots which are weirs u can crab there. hope this helps.

A buddy of mine went down Pricelake road a couple weeks ago and caught about 10 dozen. They were mixed up pretty good but he said he had quite a few big ones.

I work in Cameron Parish, a few good places to try are Price Lake Rd in the refuge, Grand Chenier Park, North of the Mermentau Bridge, Oak Grove Caution Light (park in the parking lot and crab across the road) and also down Rutherford Beach Rd just passed the caution light.
