So by letting the dog work on its own, that is saying your dog has not trust in you helping him get to the mark.. and i thought we wanted trust in our dogs?
See That what you think. If your dog is trained it will trust you. If you have to blow the whistle all day long the dog cant trust your mark of line to go retrieve the bird. That is the difference between a robot ribbon dog or a rock dog.

Well last time i checked, you dont have to blow your whistle all day long for a robot, "trained" dog.. I do believe you would be blowing that whistle a lot more for your rock dog.

and believe me, i know the difference, i have had both kinds of dogs..

Derby is my favorite. Its all about a dogs natural abilities....not how good his training is.

What is so hard to understand about this either your dog can do it or not pretty simple

No intelligent dog man would take that bet. That is why you threw it out there. Do you have any openings for the second split?

I threw it out there cause everyone either has a dog trained by him or it is a rock dog. Plan and simple I have the money and he cant get his dog to do it unless you can see the dog and blow the whistle at him and line him back up when he gets lost. And no the dog doesn't get to go run around and hunt for the bird, take the line and get the bird or bust. To answer opening dates I have Christmas and New Years but that is for my neighbor that takes care of my dogs when we are gone from the house.

Nah, you either have a dog that is trained or not trained. So simple even a cave man should be able to figure it out. Why don't you take a poll of the people on this site that I have trained for without a F'ing dime of compensation? I can assure you that it is more than your piss ant bet. PM me your address so I can send you some DVDs of how it's done outside Lake R Tur. My offer still stands; I will pay entry to the qual of your choice and pay Your bet if you can get out of the third series but you double it if you never get through the first, it's only a simple triple with one retired and a blind you can handle the dog on like All blinds.

I don't want any our you dang video's of dogs you trained, I could care less. I train mine to hunt and retrieve birds pure and simple. I placed a bet with you and even changed marshes cause you said my dog new every inch of the marsh and still you cant put up. I will even help you out a little more on the bet. I will run first and put 2 birds down within a few feet of each other and he will come back with both of them cause that's what he does and I don't fuss him. Then we will get your dog and place 1 bird in the same spot and maybe he can follow my dogs scent just maybe but I doubt it very seriously. My dog doesn't run test cause he will bust them going get more than one bird at the time. Now if you Cant Handle this go on about your damn business of so called training your dogs

I don get it. So there's no time limit? Hide a bird 500 yards away, send your dog, let him hunt aimlessly for hours until he stumbles upon a bird? Where does training come into play?

I seen't a dude come to the line one time and let his dog watch all 3 marks come out. Sent the dog for the go-bird and it ran all over creation til it SOB, then same thing for both memory birds. On the blind he kicked the dog off on "back" and crossed his arms and waited. He was confused and upset when he got dropped, "But he picked up all the birds and I never even had to handle him!"

Maybe he jus didn't have enough "Trust" in the handler to complete the "mission"?? You must have the "Quan" wit yo dog to have true enlightenment.

This thread is as cool as all "fish-off" threads with the $1000K" wagers that took never came to happen.

With all you big money guys going on about whose dog has a bigger sack, throwing out crazy numbers, how about you guys pitch in on something that really make a difference in the world like our 2013 Christmas drive! Families that we are helping would probably praise both dogs and, call em cute but, what these big numbers being spewed would really do is help them!

Smashes "like" button

This thread is gay

All that money tied up in a dog to get birds

Show me a wiener dog retrieving geese, then I'll be impressed with the $5000 school he went to.

Carry on.
