Once I thought I might have a flat on my boat trailer while driving on Big Lake road. Stopped in the middle of the road and jumped out to check. Left my truck running and some how locked the door.... had to break the window.

At one point I though "bouncing da hen" was a way to tenderize a duck before cleaning..
I warned a friend to strap his boat down and it ended up sliding off the trailer at an intersection...this was the same day we towed Bassyakr back to calcasieu point because his boat wouldnt start...it was his kill switch not working.
I once missed a doe at 60-75 yds over corn...dont shoot someone elses gun
I'll shoot anything that walks this year as long as it doesnt have spots

I tied off to a tree once on the bank of ICWW while hunting Lacassine, forgot to check cleat. Found the boat after the hunt 100yds down being held by the running light on a tallow tree limb.

I let my fiancee think she kills more ducks than she actually does.

I also let her think that I'm a better caller than I am.

I've eaten coon. Nothin wrong with it.

When u have had the things I have had happen to you you will understand the following.

No one believes my stories.
I think if I said the world would end in the morning no one would believe me.
Then when it happend some poor guy would say I told you so " not me "
I believe in they ways of the Indian not the pilgrim .
To me to have the corage to say you were right means more than to be right.
I believe god put wild anamils on earth to feed us not for the government to make money from.
I believe with every setting sun the understanding that I have one less day to help becomes even more important.
Finally I believe that if the things that were stated on this thread are true then there is a reason why they happen.

Just wish I knew what it was.

I picked up a "old wind up" clock upside down while roughing it in a tent and proceeded to wake everyone up telling them it was 4:30AM and they were going to be late. Funny part was that i got wet the evening before and told them i wasn't going out. I could hear them saying, "i slept so hard, i didn't even move!"

After a very lengthy paddle, i heard shots! They were wondering why the sun wasn't coming up! It was 11:00 at night!

I was prepping for a fishing trip, charging batteries, etc. Hit key on boat, nothing. No click, no spin, DEAD. Spent 2 hours with jumper cables, test lights, swapping batteries.....Was about to call my podna and tell him the bad news. Went back to try key once more, bumped throttle with elbow and heard it go "click". It was an eighth inch out of neutral. Felt like the worlds biggest dummy, but I did go fishing.

I never dip the little rabbit turds left in the can. Don't even break em up.

I was fishing dry reef and had a sand fly biting my temple, slapped at it and my glasses went flying into the water. With $150 pair of glasses sinking my 5 year old says "if you would have bought the croakies with the cork like a said, you would still have them. Who cares if they look stupid!". I decided the spot was a bit rough, decided to pick up the trolling motor and leave, rope broke and I punched myself in the nose. Pull out the anchor so I can get the TM up and GTFO, drop the anchor on my tow... I can hear my wife telling the boys to stay in the back at this point! Pick the anchor back up, drop it on the same toe! After I sorted out the TM it was straight back to the dock, worse day on the water by far.

I must admit, most of the stuff you guys post is pure S$%#, but this is pretty good!

I once was idling around SW pass and got caught up in a crab trap line and asked the woman I had invited to come fishing with me to jump in the water and untangle it.....and she did.

Default Outdoor Confessions/Unpopular Opinions

Me and another guy went to go get a spot and left him there , came back to my boat and the rear was under water except the motor.. Couldn't move it.. Like a genius I reverse into the water and put it in forward and punch it (still while rear is under water) moving about 3mph and sinking.. Temp light comes on. Get back to land.. And flag down the next people to help pull my boat up to where drain plug was above water.. In that long process I smashed my nose on my boat. Still crooked to this day. Well. We hunted and limited out.. Thanks to the fellas who stopped and helped..
Never been so scared in my life.. All though I prolly could've stood right up in the water and not go over my head

We spent more time broken down in the marsh this year then we did in the duck blind. All that for maybe 40 ducks between 2 hunters....... And I can't wait until November to do it again.

One of my motors quit as I was leaving the locks at FW city and heading into the gulf. Kept trying to restart it and would just get the warning light and motor would not turn over. Turned around to head back to ICY as that is where we put in. After limping halfway back (9 miles) on one motor, I realized that the motor would not start because the throttle was still engaged. That was my genius moment.
