I know they got those delete/reprogram kits for diesel 3/4 tons. Never driven or pulled with one but I've heard good things about them

I have eco boost 4 X4 and it tows a 14500 pound fifth wheel. Ive pulled 10000 pound bobcat. 28ft Scout loaded. And it does have air bags. Towing camper it gets 7-7.5 mpg. Towing my bay boat it gets 12. Its strong point is its towing. Have 40000 miles trouble free. Friend has one with 112000 miles no prob. So far I like my first ford. I have tested it pretty hard so far. If I didnt have my camper I would only have a Tacoma. My favorite truck has been a tacoma.

How much of that ,if any,is on the interstate between 70-80 mph? Does ever search for gears?

Never 70-80 unless unloaded. Usually around 65 mph and only searches with my camper. With my 25ft bay boat it doesnt search, and my 18ft bay boat it makes 14mpg at 65mph.
At 80 mph the eco boost will suck some fuel. But it goes.

Hard for trucks not to search now with 6,7 and 8 speed transmissions.

The American version of top gear put all these 1/2 ton trucks thru their paces. Worth watching if anyone has doubts about towing abilities.

Im going to look that up in a few.

I had no complaints about how the hemi pulled my 21ft boat with no problem! I got 15 mpg at 60-63.

I just was something that will do just the same or better but not a diesel

My boss has the 6.2L. 12mpg highway and arround town, does not matter. He does have a large bumper pull trailer, he is scared to pass up gas statins while towing.

Bought a 2014 ford 5.0L 4x4 back in December and it pulls a 21' Sea Pro just fine. Got about 13 MPG back and forth from BL to Youngsville. Hell of a lot better riding than my last 2 Zs and a lot more quiet on the inside.

I have a 2011 Eco-boost with the 3.55 rear end.
I get 22 to 24 mpg most of the time on the interstate.
I get 12 to 14 mpg towing a 2000 boat and loaded truck from Lake Charles to Grand Isle.
It never bogs down. Pulls great but not like a diesel.
It's super fast off the line or passing, but you can't get HP if you don't burn BTU's.
It takes gas to get them horses running. No one is going to get good MPG towing, except if you have a diesel.

Boating magazine did an article about the 3.5L Eco against the 6.2L, towing the same boat.
The Eco won the overall due to milage without a boat.
The 6.2L had more HP and Torque but only had a slight advantage over the 3.5L.

Mine is 3 years old, with no issues yet.
