I got 100 lbs. of fresh headed shrimp last time I was home for 1 days work.
They are selling the jumbo shrimp off the boats for around $2.50 to $3.50 per pound.
When I was off work, they had 31/35's, 21/25's, 16/20's with some 10/15's mixed in.
My wife liked shrimp until she married me. I get 400 to 500 lbs. a year for refrigeration work.
Ray, you may know my uncle and cousin if you do refrigeration work. They are Guidry's from Lake Arthur.

I know some Prices from over there. They used to sell in Cameron before Rita.
Not sure about any Guidry's. My dad may know them if they fished or sold in Cameron and needed refrig. work. He did it full time until last year in Cameron. I just did it for shrimp.

That is my family. My grandfather (Warren Price) who is 84 years old still shrimps but just the lakes and bays. All of his brothers used to shrimp also, but they are getting out of it because of their age plus the price of shrimp vs. fuel.

I remember a Nick Price. He shrimped offshore. We got a lot of shrimp and fish from him.
His nephew Tommy used to work on the rig on my platform. We worked for the same company. He is retired, but came back as a drilling consultant.

After 30 somthing years, you won't find me out here again.

Didn't realize Tommy had retired. I knew Bobby Price had retired and went back as a consultant. My uncle Nig has tied his boat up due to high fuel cost and he can't get around like he used to. He is in bad health for a couple of years now, he was in the hospital a couple of years back and didn't think he would come out.

He was pretty old last time I saw him about 10 years ago. I was surprised he still worked at that age.
