They should axe the use of these cards at gas stations and on "cold drinks", candy bars, $.99 bags of chips, boiled crawfish, crab legs and a number of other "goods" that those who work only can afford once in a great while. They should set it up more like the WIC program, that is widely abused too! At least that way, they only get to get certain, neccessity items! They should also do like the unemployment division, where they have to go out and seek employment. Do most of these folks actually look for a job in a serious manner?...No but, at least it gets em off the dang couch!
I know you do, wasn't taking a shot at you or anything. This stuff just really pisses me off.
It should definitely be set up like the WIC where they are only allowed certain things and it's not the more expensive items but it's the cheap stuff.

Don't even get me started on this! Like buying crawfish with food stamps that is a luxury not a necessity. I work 12 hour days and sometimes longer to support my family. Yeah we have some nice stuff, but me and my wife work hard for what we have. We wait until the price of crawfish goes down to get them unless we have some extra money, and these waste of sperm go get them on a food stamp card. Like i said don't get me started i can go on about this all day.

my last word on this

I'm not familiar with the abuse that goes on in that department...but

I have seen first hand the abuse the happens with the subsidized housing. Imagine having a 3 bedroom house for 28 dollars per month for you and your 4 kids. Then, move 2 boyfriends in and begin complaining about paying the rent. Force the marshalls office to evict you over it, then maybe set fire to the place for revenge. These people will stop paying the utility bills until they're cut off, then start using the restroom on an old mattress in the bedroom b/c the toilet wont flush anymore. (when it gets this bad usually their mainlining crack or something similar) (obviously this is the far opposite of the "smarter" ones i mentioned earlier)

yah, a drug test should correct the mentality

I worked at a pogy plant for a few months after being out of work. If you need
money, you can find a job.
If'n I drawed gov'ment money, it would be cause I was handicapped.
However, I do have long term disibility insurance to cover me for that right now.
I'd be ashamed to draw a check and be physically able to work, but not take a
job that was open.

It's pretty sad that I can't afford a new truck but they can afford Escalades and Navigators on ugly *** expensive rims and tv's in the headrests. It's very simple, if you need government assistance no problem but if you can afford the finer things in life like $50,000 vehicles you need to get your *** to work and quit being a bum.
Amen brother! I almost lost it the other night. Went to walmart for the first time in a long time. Had a lady in front of me with a basket FULL of steaks and other expensive meat. Payed for it with food stamps and walked to her new escalade. Funny thing is the last time I went to wal mart I saw the exact same thing....might have even been the same lady.

Not only do I have to take drug tests often but now we even have to take supervised drug tests cause so many people cheat. Thats what they need. Supervised!!!! Dr. Lee at Prime Medical in Brusly has no problem staring at your bird while you pee in the cup.

Instead of drug tests I would be more in favor of forced sterilization for government subsidized bums, nor forever, just as long as they are on welfare. I could care less about the drugs, let em take the drugs, sooner or later they will kill themselves or be killed. If they are allowed to reproduce the cycle continues.

I would also cut out corporate welfare which is just as rampant as the abuse of the food stamps. Entitlement is not just for poor people.

Longside, me and you are good as long as the sun rises in the east! I know it wasn't a shot at me. The "poor" really need to be evaluated! By my biz expenses last year, I'm as poor, if not worse off, than any of them! Still, my knees won't touch the ground for a handout like w looking for a new sheep! Lol

A Michigan man isn't letting something a lottery windfall stop him from using government assistance to buy food.

In an interview with WNEM Saginaw, the man says his $2 million winnings from last year didn't go as far as he would have liked. He said taxes swallowed up more than half the money, and he has no apologies for using his government-provided electronic card to buy food, saying "If you're going to ... try to make me feel bad, you aren't going to do it."

The man says he has permission from the Department of Human Services to continue using the card. Neighbors have spotted him driving an Audi convertible.

Don't get too excited about the drug testing. A random drug test to only the small percentage that recieve cash from the state. Even if they test positive, the only lose the cash benefit if the refuse government funded rehab. It will not affect any other benefits. Smoke and mirrors.

I know how you feel man. I got a wife in college, a 3 month old baby, 2 car notes and just built a house but it'll be a cold day in hell before I walk around with my hand out asking for some help like these despicable excuses for humans!
