I own a Blazer Bay. If I was to buy a new boat tomorrow it would between a 24' Bluewave Pure bay, a 22' Blackjack or another Blazer. (I think the Bluewave is the best value in a 24' boat.) My son own's a 22' Nauticstar and it's laid out well however I don't find it rides as well as my Blazer nor is it as solidly built. (My Blazer is a TANK but still rides very dry and fast) His boat beats the crap out of me in rough water and is a very wet ride. I also like the Frontier but want a bigger boat for my next one. If I was looking for a entry level bay boat it would high on my list but would loose out to a higher quality used boat like a Triton etc. Whatever you do stay away from Aluminum bay boats. Aluminum boats have their place and Bay boat's are not it.

Been looking pretty hard at all the different boats. Blue wave has been having some electrical and quality control issues. When I started out skeeter was not on my list but after riding and fishing out of one was pretty impressed. The frontier is nice but Alphaman is correct that step up on the front deck is pretty big if you have bad knees.

MREX,
I by no means am saying anything bad about other boats. Frontier, Blackjack, Bluewave, Blazer, Pathfinder are all great boats. And I AM NOT ranking Skeeter above them either, but for my needs, and overall average, Im telling you, the new 210 SX is amazing. SKeeter finally got rid of that ugly Double S inlay on the sides of the boat, and that ugly pin striping and double tone colors. They have a new design team that is using the ISLA MORADA Florida style coloring concepts and the new hull rides like a dream. AGAIN, SKEETER is not the only boat I would buy, but Im just giving my opinion, but my opinion isn't worth much Im sure. AND NO, I DO NOT WORK FOR SKEETER.. LOL Im a simple Industrial Engineer. What do I know. LOL |

I would jump on a 24' frontier in a heartbeat.
I do like Bluewave boats, but sounds like QC has been a real issue. Also, their warranty is questionable on buy used guide boats, which most of the used bluewave's available are 1-2 year old guide boats. I am leaning towards the Bullsbay 2200 and I am going to check out the new Seapro boats. I have taken a look at some used boats, a couple of maybes out there. I still have a charter scheduled for the 8th, and I am working on credit for a another, so I have some time and still get some fishing in. I would like a 24' boat, but a 22' boat will do just fine for years to come. |

I've got a 2nd year guide boat trade in...had it for over 2 years. No issues with build quality except one hatch in the deck in front of the console that takes a lot of force when stepping down from the front deck...more flex than I like so I plan on a little surgery on it this winter. Other than that it is a great boat. I know I have some warranty left on the Yammy 250 but I did not ask about the hull/components. If you go through the boat thoroughly before you buy you should be able to spot any real problems. I am hypercritical when it comes to my boats and the PB2400 really has satisfied me thus far.

have become a Skeeter Fan. If I had to buy today it would be a Skeeter. But still have a few more to go check out and really in no big hurry. Blackjack is nice but it is priced out same as a 24 ft boat. Trying to get a test ride set up on a pathfinder.

Those Epics are about the ugliest boat I ever saw. I hate boats with that upswept front half.

Lol.
Kind of like the Blackjack looks like someone had a head on collision with a boat ramp and didn't want to repair the front end |

All this bashing of Epics. They can't be that bad. I know some are gonna get their feelings hurt over that. But hey you gotta be salty to survive here sometimes I guess.
