There are 50,455 public teachers in Louisiana as of October 1, 2014 ( that's when schools turn in enrollment and staff numbers)

50,455 teachers are paid by who ??? Tax money revenue from oil industry

My wifes a school teacher in Desoto parrish, it is by far the "richest" school parrish, teacher get bonuses, pay is high teacher are on a waiting list to get in here, hell even the high school students are issued Ipads to replace books, and why? Hansville shale fracking tax revenue hell the local sheriff bought a helicopter for enforcment, CASH!
