11 day snapper season

No one with CCA is denying any commercial snapper fisherman's right to fish there quota...

It's very big business as the commercial permit holders are by far a small group.. Similar to Deadliest Catch..

CCA is supporting Alternative 5 of Amendment 28. It would be nice if we could get a federal season that was a 3 day weekend. Like our state did last yr.. The Guide would start hollowing if that was granted..

This is my belief as a longtime offshore fisherman. The Data used to assess RS stocks are antiquated. It's based on science from 30 yrs ago..

If "New Science" was used, such as including every offshore platform in the GoM.. Then the Data would reflect RS stock could very easily support large creel and season limits..

Again, I see it as a slap in me face as a Rec fisherman, when the Obama administration mandated that because of the BP spill, all Idle Iron has to be removed or oil company's will be fined.

I work for several very large oil and gas companies in the GoM.. Does that Make me guilty by association for the oil spill?? Does that make me guilty, that rigs are removed by the use of Dynamite, Killing every single marine organism with n that platform..

10's of 1000's of pounds are then killed.. But does the Gulf Council do anything about those dead fish..

NOOOOOOOO.. Because they are being told what to do by the National Marine Fisheries.
