Before the .375 H&H was avail. in a rifle that regular guys could afford,( m70 Win. ) the .35 Whelen was THE big caliber for BIG/DANGEROUS game.Learn to handload and the cost will be down around .30/30s off the shelf.With sharp bullets and full power loads,it is a honest 400 yard rifle....if you are a 400 yard capable shooter that is... and much more powerful than the '06 GOOD LUCK !!!
