Yeah, I'm a sparkle beetle person myself. Glow beetle and glow/chart Norton Eel, Jr. is what I caught all my fish on Fri night and Sat am.

The camp owner next to us used live shrimp he caught in his cast net. He ended up with one more speck Fri night than I did using beetle on plain, un-weighted hook that night, and we pretty much fished same time of night.

I don't even know how to properly throw a cast net, so I'm SOL anyway if I'd ever want to use live shrimp.
