I use mostly 6'6" and 6'8". I find the handles on the 7 footers are often too long. My main rods are the Duce 6'8" baitcaster and the TFO 6'6" spinning. Both medium. You're probably going to get so many different opinions it's going to be difficult to come up with a "one rod fits all" kayak angler rod. Good luck to you!

I agree on the "one rod fits all", I just want to have something that better fits the kayak fishing style.

I know most guy's like the shorter handle for yak and wading, but how short? 7"
