Nov 20.....Day 2 with the trip that Henry Hoffstadt booked was even better than the day before. Henry couldn't make the trip but he sent the Cheshire family on what was most likely their best trip ever! Jim,Paul,Leo and James Cheshire whacked and stacked the yellowmouths! We got an early start from the Lakehouse and was fishing at the crack of dawn. Due to increasing warmer temps each day the fishing was not as productive in the deeper canals as the trout start to scatter on the warm-ups. The trout will migrate to shallow water on flats and reefs but not very far from the deeper waterways. The fish were stacked on this particular day and feeding on small shrimp on a falling tide. My crew started catching trout on every cast on swimbaits. The action was so fast and furious I decided to switch them over to double rigged LSU chubs. Within 30 minutes we had the floor of the big Blazer covered with 14-20 inch fish! We were slinging in fish 8-10 at a time on almost every cast, just incredible!! At 7:10 am it was over as we reached our 125 fish limit of fat yellowmouths. The Cheshire family was in awe as they never have caught fish in a frenzy like they witnessed Tuesday morning. The Big Nutria fishing team tagged along and Craig & Lynn had no problem catching their 50 fish limit.
Good luck fishing. Capt Bill Lake 985-637-3712 |
