I use Chevron gas when possible due to they took care of me.

Worked as a process operator in El Segundo, CA back in 1990's.

Don't know what going on now, but back then they were weeding out the union.
It was so bad it took 4 union people to change a light blub in an office.

The unit I worked in was a small batch unit
Non union - paid better, better benefits, didn't get hit up for dues, our batches were 95%, and move up the ladder on merit not time in service. Yes, I had a rare cancer this company took care of me. Even though I left the company to move back to Louisiana they paid 100% of my medical treatment, paid 40 salary averaged out while in treatment, put me on their medical as an employee, and offered me employment in an office setting if I wanted to move back to California.

We did the job better, made more money, and the company took care of me well after I left the company.

Union- weeding them out , their batches 80% which alot of times we had to fix,
Young people had to wait until someone retired to move up the ladder, and took twice the amount of people to do the same job.
They actually had a guy in the maintenace shop who only job was to sweep up messes in the shop.
No one cleaned up their mess that was his job.
Sad part was one day they needed a basic light bulb changed in the office and it took 4 union people to do it.
Union units were the worst run units in the company due to inter fighting between young members and older members over promotions.
They older members would not help show the younger members how to run those units.
One guy was injured and I saw a union member just looking at him not helping from the racks above.

When I was there they ended up shutting alot of these units down due to they lost way too much money.

Then election time their union was promoting Bill Clinton for President on company property. Funny, after Clinton was elected the majority of the union guys pushing for him lost their jobs.
