Here is the report.

Got to venice marina around 5 am. Launched boat..... Port engine would not crank.
Spent 2 hours trying to trouble shoot.
Finally found problem; and got the replacement part from another boat.
Thanks to that guy!!

So by 730 we were off and running. Hit the mouth southwest pass...... 3-5 fters.
We're in a 26 ft well craft. So we slowly make our way out to the first stop.
250 ft of water.
I drop down cut pogy with 8oz of lead; btw don't rely on marina for lead. Buy ahead of time. Boom, I'm Hooked up. Hand reel to Lauren and she hauls in her first offshore fish. A nice red snapper; problem is they ain't in season.
So we vent and released.
Drop down 10 more times; can't get thru the snapper fast enough; only had 10 of the 8 oz weights . And i didn't want to load up with 3/4 on one line and possibly loose em.
We got cut off a few time; seaguar 50 lb flouro leader.
It was a smooth cut, cuda or maybe shark.
Either way I didn't wanna loose my lead and then b screwed for the rest of the day.
So we caught and released snapper.
Jumped around to about 12 rigs total.
Deepest was 300 ft; I threw a butterfly jig and hooked a few snapper at about 200 ft but still didn't have the weight to get down to the AJ's.
Jig was only 6 oz.

We caught approximately 120 snapper; I started to keep count after the second rig.
Each was vented and released safe.
Weights were 5-13 lbs.
We caught more in the 8-10 lb. Range

Didn't get out to the tuna; from what u heard at te marina the tuna bite was good but it was early yesterday. No big size from the ones I seen but stil nice 30-50 lb YT.

I will defiantly go but more and bigger weights; bc the AJ were thick. Just needed the weight to get to em.

The attached pic is a 65 lb AJ ; I believe it was off capt eddies boat. I talked to the guys he took out; from pensacola. Didn't get a chance to meet capt Eddie. Hope to soon.
