I rinse off with water, keep them oiled and greased. reel magic I'll use as a line conditioner and I spray it on my guides. I also change my line once a month, if I fish every week. I also keep my rod and reels out of the sun when they're not in use, I keep them in my room, instead of a hot shed or storage unit. I don't know if it matters but, I figure if my shed ever gets broke into I'm not out of thousands of dollars rods and reels.
