To me, your blind is to close to the water (should be further in the grass) and too high. We have a set up something like yours (marsh with box blind) and my uncle brushed it this weekend with fast grass. I will post pics for you to see when I get back from SC on Fri.

Knock it down 5 feet and use fastgrass. Do NOT plant roseau cane (Phragmites) in there! You will regret it.
