Default What fires up Cajuns the most

For me all of these tend to get me fired up but I am partial to number 3, take your pick. As "Cajuns" we are all passionate people, see the attached poll.

1) Swamp People - Theme "Welcome to the Swamp"

2) Lee Greenwood - Proud to be an American

3) Saturday night in Tiger Stadium when the band takes the field and hits those four high notes right before kick off.

4) Don Williams - Louisiana Saturday night.

The theme song for deadliest catch would have been number 5 for me.

As a "non-native" perhaps I'm not entitled to a vote but, if you can't like Lee Greenwood's, Proud to be an American, you should likely move to Europe or Canada!

No doubt I am a huge fan of that song as well. When I was in school during the first Iraq war, at halftime of our basketball game the school had someone come in and sing that song, the gym united as was louder than I have ever heard. Our coach used it as motiviation. I don't think I recall seeing a group of people more fired up or a bunch of kids play any harder than we did that night.

I know, what's weird is I remember gettign chills in that stadium as a seven year old when the band took the field. At that point I didn't even know why they were taking the field or understand what they were about to do. It is a magical place, you never forget your first night in TS.

You would. Careful, you are proving ASR's point that you have never really been to a game.

tru that who dat...my first was in my early days in college. it was the lsu /tennesee game--first game in TS after Katrina..man that made it even more explosive. to top it off, the jets flew over at the end of the NATIONAL ANTHEM....can you say ....STUPID PSYCHED!!!???

I hate that for you, that game ended with one of the worst fourth quarters in LSU's history. The worst may have been in the early 90's when Jamie Howard threw 4 interceptions in the 4th qtr v/s Auburn.

It was the fall of '69, LSU vs. A&M, 70,000+ shouting tiger bait, tiger bait . . . we got our heads handed to us . . . but it was a highly charged atmosphere . . . one of the best I've seen and my dad was a coach for 35 years . . . however, we did manage to score 3 times . . . LOL
