Ive had well water pretty much my whole life and the only time you lose prime is if you run the water when the electricity is off or you dont run the water when your pipes could freeze

Yea...it did not lose prime very often but as was previously stated, it never happens on a warm sunny day....And "Yes" Meaux you are correct about turning on the water when the electricity was out.

And that can happen very easily. How many times have you walked through your home when the electricity is out and walk into a room and flip the light switch.......It's just a habit. Same with turning the faucet on. As a kid, I always blamed my brother....

Yeh, I did too, but as Blue said, in a house full of people someone was bound to forget and turn on a faucet. Add a bad foot valve and priming it was a pain. I'm 41 years old, had water well for 34 of those years, and community water the last 7, life is good!

My dad had a few issues with priming his well. Bad foot valve.
Since it was replaced, no priming for the past 2 years.

Just wondering how much they went up in the last couple years.

got mine done about 2 months ago it was 160' i went with a 3" submersible pump and it was 3k. this also included the pressure tank

No man, I didn't call. I spoke with the guy in charge of the local water company and he said that since my property borders the highway that he can bore a line under the highway and direct feed water to my lot only instead of going through the subdivision. All I have to pay is $550 for a meter box and they will do the rest!

I would pay to be the first one in a subdivision to run the water line in!!!!! Then, everyone else would have to pay me to tap into it!!!!!

my dad owned a water well service since I was 5yrs old but he just sold it all a few years ago...not sure about the going prices right now...if any of you have any problems or questions about wells shoot me a pm and I can answer any of your questions but prices..I still do a few repairs here and there for some of the people around my house though.
