I did it the opposite way, drove till my tank was empty, stuck two hydraulic jacks under the gas tank, with a 2x6 board unbolted tank and lowered it, disconnected fuel hoses, changed fuel pump then, reinstall hoses and tank, took me an hour and a half. at least when you take off your truck bed you wont have to get under you vehicle and have dirt fall in your eyes and deal with the struggle of jacking up your fuel tank! My buddy has a dodge that he runs biodeisel in and he changes the fuel pump frequently, he just cut a door in the bed of his truck, so its a ez change.

Did it that way with on a Tahoe.......sucked
