Sorry he fishes with live bait. But I haven't even seen a 9lbs trout caught on this site(or the other site) with or without live bait since I've been here last year(not saying there hasnt been one, I've only been active here for the last few months but still). give the guy props, he's an old man that knows his area and catches big fish simple as that. I don't see where there is anything to discuss

He claims to have caught 9 trout that weighed over 80 lbs.............in one day. First of all, I do not believe that. I think that Terry Shaughnessy claiming to have caught over 5,000 8 lb. trout in his lifetime is more realistic. Damn shame he didn't have a camera with him the day of that slaughter 'cause his pics are of 3 lbers. He did, however, show a pic of a couple of 7's he was gettin' ready to clean. If I were to compile a list of "TroutMasters".......he would not be featured, nor, would anybody else that fished live bait exclusively and kept every fish they caught.

Definatly would be a close race between Jeff, Will and the Stansel brothers.

There are a lot of others that are good but these guys are the elite.

I'd much rather be mentioned in Sports Illustrated. Because I don't believe the dood caught 9 trout over 9 lbs in one trip does not mean that I don't believe he's caught 9 lb. trout, nor, that I'm hatin'. Sittin' at Seabrook soakin' live bait involves more luck than skill.

ok well then sports illustrated it is. so tell me when u go to seabrook and soak live bait do u catch anything? or have u even fished seabrook legit with live bait? ya dont just show up and trout jump in ur live well and eat ur shrimp u gotta find em. technique just like fishing anywhere else, period! but that would be cool sports illustrated "fisherman edition"

Well, they'll be in that 5-acre spot in the center of those 5,000 boats. Ya sit there and wait for the trout to pass through.

Yeah, I've been to Seabrook. Been twice with, arguably, one of the "elite" on Lake Pontchartrain......and, no, it wasn't "Chink". Had I or anyone on the boat caught a big trout....I still would not have been impressed with the place. LaAngler, a "westerner", has been there. Ask his opinion.

I would rather catch 15 1lb trout in the marsh than 25 5lb trout at seabrook. To hell with all those boats and the craziness that goes with that spot. I have been once and swore I would never go back. That was 6 years ago and I haven't been back. The guys sitting on the pier chunking weights at the boats, other boats within spitting range of you, driving thru the ghetto to get there. I'll pass. But what i love about seabrook is when it is hot every boat in the metro area is there, leaving the other spots peaceful.
