They do have a management program there but its for the bears. All they worry about is the bears. I've been hunting there since i was 13ish, killed my first deer in Big Lake WMA, which is right down the road from Tensas. Back in the day the camp ground where our camp is, Wilhites campground, it used to be so packed you couldn't fit another tent in there. You would see at least 4-6 bucks like Jchief killed during the lottery rifle hunts, if not more just in our campground. We have always hunted the Thanksgiving weekend lottery hunt.

They still have awesome deer there, but its not like it used to be at all. I love going out there, we've killed a lot squirrels, duck and deer, but it aint like it used to be.

Picture was taken around 95 or 96.

And Awesome buck by the way jchief!!
