Caught my pogies just before sunrise and pointed the baystealth towards turners. I made it just pass the ICW locks and almost as soon as the depthfinder went from 14 feet to 3 feet of water I noiticed fish blowing up all over so killed engine lowered trolling motor made a cast and as soon as it hit water 13" trout hit it and I pushed button to lower Talens power pole. Not quite an hour later I made a fish count and had my trout limit right there. Then the birds started working right beside me. Pretty cool to be there early enough to beat the birds to the fish, lol! I was hoping for better fish but if they were going to make it that easy I was there for the taking. I had been dropped off cause ole lady needed truck so I made a quick call to her and realized she hadn't even made it to her spot yet so cranked Yamaha back up and headed for Turners to find Reds. Rounded the corner and birds were working everywhere but had almost as many boats under them. Guides, flat bottoms, average joes all trying to get to the schools. Was so glad I already had mine then so made a few quick cast on the reef I fish and nothing tide too hard always muddies that reef so eased back to the point behind it and nothing after 7-8 cast and boats running all over so went right back to where I was and within 15 minutes had another 3 reds finishing then off. Soon as I picked everything up phone rings and ole lady ask if I'm ready. Perfect timing. I was prepared to be out til noon but she is done and I'm literally close enough to launch I could troll there so called it. Back home with clean boat by 10am. Got me a nap now gotta clean em. Its the shrimp coming out of marsh that has them shallow along with cool weather. Fall patterns are here guys. Chilly ride to end of LNG to catch bait this am.
