Grand Isle (6/19/2016-6/22/2016)

I'm headed to Grand Isle on this Sunday and I will stay for a few days with the family and I am looking to do some fishing. Any tips or advice? I am fairly new to saltwater fishing and I will have my boat (19' Tracker deep V fishing rig). I will have my cast net and should be able to catch some shrimp but is there anything else I should try? Fish the beach side or bay side? Should I try to get to the rigs, if so what do I do when I get there? I know its a lot of questions, I'm hoping for a productive trip as my last few haven't been very good.


I know to fish the birds and look for slicks but not sure on bait selection and where to try to look for birds.
