Yesterday Jack Whitehead and friend Richard fished with Capt. Marty. Today they jumped on the Bluewave with me for a second day of relaxing. First thing Jack said to me this morning was that they weren't mad at the fish and wanted to relax. It was a chilly start as we searched for trout right off the bat. All I can say is the bite was horrible. We only found one in about an hour and a half. Luckily we have other options in LA and that's what we resorted to in order to stretch the line. The guys fished for a couple more hours before calling it an early day. They put plenty of puppy drum in the K2 along with a few reds. Richard even hooked a keeper trout on bait shrimp with his last cast of the day. The trout bite has been off this week so hopefully it will pick up this weekend as conditions improve. If not do yourself a favor and bring some bait shrimp and hit as many points you can. No sense in being stubborn and not catching anything if the trout bite continues to be sluggish. Thanks Capt. Marty LaCoste for setting up the trip.
